About Caleb Mason a.k.a. Don Trowden

Don Trowden is the pen name for Caleb Mason who is the author of five novels and one non-fiction book. His books have received praise from Allen Lacy of The New York Times and authors including Jane Smiley, Joyce Kornblatt, and Eleanor Perenyi.

Caleb's new novel Thickafog is being published in March 2025 and is a psychological mystery set on a remote Maine island. His most recent novel Young Again was co-authored with Valerie McKee and is an uplifting story of inclusion and the healing power of music. Previous novels include Normal Family (2012); No One Ran to the Altar (2016); and All the Lies We Live (2018).  The Isles of Shoals Remembered was published in 1992. 

Caleb is working on a new novel to be published in 2026, also set on Archer Island, as is Thickafog.
